Looking for CCS', CPCs, RHITs and RHIAs that have coded ICD-9s for at
least 2 years to work a contract-part time position. Our client needs help coding
their ICD-9 charts so they are looking for people to be able to put in at least 10
hours a week to go onsite and code their charts. You can work anywhere from
10-50 hours. You can make your own hours anytime M-F 7am-6pm. Their
location is in the Cool Springs area. You will have to start coding onsite but if
you prove yourself by having great productivity while you are working, they will
give you the opportunity to work from home after a few weeks. The position pays

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct routine audits at the request of the KMSF Compliance Committee and managers.
Enter audit results into the electronic audit tool (MDAudit).
Prepare and conduct one-on-one educational sessions and/or divisional meetings with providers to review audit results.
Stay abreast of regulatory changes and incorporate those changes into work processes and educational sessions.
Research complex documentation and coding questions for faculty and staff.
Conduct focused reviews of selected physician documentation as needed.
Develop and conduct compliance-related educational sessions as assigned.
Review medical record documentation to evaluate compliance with CPT and ICD-9-CM coding and other federal and state regulatory standards.
Compile review data and present information to the Compliance Officer, KMSF Compliance Committee, and other parties as directed.
Analyze data for trends; prepare summaries and conclusions from data.
Respond to faculty and staff questions concerning compliance-related issues.
Advise individuals of any changes in billing services based on audit results.
Process refunds and allowances when appropriate.
Work with outside auditors and investigators to pull charts, assist with chart reviews, and assist in interpretation of medical records.
Assist the Compliance Office in maintaining an effective corporate compliance program.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRES 3-5 years experience in ICD-9, CPT-4 and modifier usage for surgical procedure coding. CPC required or demonstrated coding competency.

Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
Must be willing to adjust working schedule whenever required.
